Gordo anchors the farm country of Pickens County along US 82, west of Tuscaloosa on the road toward Columbus, Mississippi β a town of homeplaces, cattle pasture, row-crop fields, and Friday-night football pride. It's outside our daily city routes, but the drive out 82 is a regular one for us: the work here is exactly what we're equipped for, big farm-scale clearing and the kind of large-tree care that flat Black Belt-adjacent land grows tall.
Out here the tree questions are agricultural and generational. Fence lines planted decades ago as "just a few pines" are now rows of 70-foot loblollies leaning toward the pasture. Homeplace yards carry pecans and oaks big enough to predate the house, dropping limbs in every summer thunderstorm. Ponds and creek bottoms need their cypress and hardwood buffer left standing while everything else gets cleaned up. We approach these places as working land, not suburbia β meaning we clear what's in the way, keep what's earning its keep, and plan work around calving, planting, and hay season like the locals we work for.
Honesty, the way we run out-county work: Gordo is far enough from Tuscaloosa that we batch Pickens County jobs together, so a little lead time on scheduling goes a long way toward a better price. The estimate visit is free, quotes are written, and for clearing or multi-tree jobs the travel barely matters β the equipment day dominates the cost either way. If you've got a pine on the barn or a fencerow that's twenty years past due, one call gets it on the calendar.
The out-county staples: land clearing, tree removal, brush chipping, stump grinding, and storm response. Full details on our services page; everywhere we travel on service areas.
